Sundial raises $23M to empower better, faster decisions

We're thrilled to announce that Sundial has raised $23 million in funding, most recently a $16M Series A led by GPV partner DJ Patil.


At Sundial, we believe that building something people use and love is one of the hardest and most humbling endeavors, and it comes down to high-quality decisions that produce results.

Consistently excellent decisions come from a deep obsession with the cliff’s edge between customer understanding and product capability. It’s important to know what’s working and what isn’t.


That’s why data matters. We live by the mantra: diagnose with data; treat with design.

From our time at Facebook, we've seen what masterful data-informed decision making looks like: extreme alignment; shared curiosity to unpeel deeper and deeper understanding; urgency in the pace.


Alas, learning to be data-informed is not easy. Once we left Meta, we realized just how many companies and leaders struggle to feel confident and informed when it comes to decisions big and small.


Using data well is like learning a new language requiring years of skill and context building—everything from knowing the most learning to read j-curves to interpreting dense tables to knowing the specific name of a specific column with a specific dialect of SQL.


Sundial is our attempt to solve that problem. Our aim is to bottle up opinionated intelligence to guide decision-makers towards better decisions. We envision a world where everyone can be their own expert analyst.


Sundial uses AI and expert analytical techniques to make insights accessible to every decision-maker, not just data specialists. Data should speak the language of business, not the other way around.
